Peter Cox, D.C.
No stranger to pain and discomfort, Dr. Cox became a chiropractor after having low-back problems due to extensive physical training. Cox was a national-champion fencer at Penn State University and a four time all-American when he injured himself while training for the U.S. Olympic team. Chiropractic care saved him from back surgery, and allowed him to compete as the #1 U.S. sabre fencer in the 1996 Olympic Games- that same year he graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College. Cox opened Dynamic Health Center in 1997 and has seen it grow every year since. Dr. Cox was also recently recognized nationally by being selected as one of the ten chiropractors for the PGA (Professional Golf Association) and Senior PGA Tours due to his application of knowledge, equipment, and treatment approach. If you are in pain, have a problem no one else can solve, want a second opinion, or just want to improve your posture and overall health, Dr. Cox can help. After a complete examination, he will explain any medical problems and recommended treatment plans in terms that are easy to understand. Today, Cox oversees all chiropractors and physical therapist at the clinic and studies new equipment and therapies. He says, "I've always seen myself as a strong team leader. My nickname in college was 'Catalyst'. I love to motivate patients, staff, and myself." Dr. Cox is an active member of the Charlotte community, speaking to schools, organizations, and corporations about achieving goals, self-motivation and, of course, improving your quality of life through optimum health. He is married to Heidi Cox, and is the proud father of two children, Brianna and Andre. In his free time, he gives lessons at local fencing clubs. |
Bryan Jackson, P.T., D.C.
But a friend began talking with him about chiropractic methods. Jackson researched the field and concluded, to his shock, that chiropractic could be more effective for certain conditions than physical therapy. He felt he owed it to his patients to provide a variety of treatments and returned to school, earning a Doctor of Chiropractic degree summa cum laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport , Iowa. Today, Jackson is both a chiropractor and physical therapist. His blend of expertise fits well at Dynamic Health Center , a clinic that offers many types of treatments and equipment to bring patients to their optimum health. My educational background allows me to look at cases from a dual perspective, he says. I have two different but complementary fields to draw upon. Jackson grew up in Scarborough , Maine and first became interested in a career in healthcare as a teenager. He briefly considered becoming an engineer, but wanted a career that was more oriented towards people. He and his wife moved to the Charlotte area two years ago, enjoying the people, climate, and opportunity here. Jackson worked at a sports therapy facility in Gastonia before joining Dynamic Health Center . The practice impressed him in part because he felt he could learn here. Dynamic Health offers half a dozen pieces of therapeutic equipment that I had not seen before. That showed me the doctors here were interested in continuous learning. Away from work, Jackson spends most of his time keeping up with his two daughters. He also enjoys bicycling and playing tennis.

Matthew Hennessy, D.C.
Chiropractic has been a significant part of Dr. Matthew Hennessy's life since a young age. His mother has scoliosis, which goes through very severe cycles; her condition worsened to the point that her hips would lock up, causing her to be bedridden one week out of the month on a regular basis. Once his mother sought chiropractic care, her symptoms eased so much so that, not only was she no longer sporadically bedridden, but she hasn't approached that severity in symptoms since, with continuing regular visits to her chiropractor. After Hennessy relocated to Charlotte from Michigan with his wife Laura and son Joshua. He is an avid reader, runner, and very active with his church. |

John Sherman, M.P.T.
As Sherman defended another player, his foot slipped into a hole. The other player fell on top of him. Sherman’s foot turned one way, his body twisted another. The injury was devastating: his kneecap dislocated, fracturing in several pieces. Unable to accept his scholarship, Sherman had to learn how to walk and run again. He spent over a year in physical therapy. That gave him plenty of time to think about how to rebuild his life. He realized that he was fascinated by the work the physical therapists were doing. “I loved what they were doing with me, and I wanted to do the same thing for other people,” he says. Sherman had found his purpose. He earned Bachelors and Masters Degrees in physical therapy – the latter magna cum laude – from D’Youville College in Buffalo, New York. Today, patients benefit from his expert, compassionate care at Dynamic Health Center. “John understands the big picture of what’s necessary to get a patient well, then works each phase of care to get the best result possible,” says clinic director Dr. Peter Cox. “He understands improvement takes time and he’s willing to work at the speed the patient is able to heal. He’s an excellent listener and superb at relating to patients. When you meet him, you see he has a sincere, noble purpose. Sherman previously worked for a rehabilitation center in Baltimore, Maryland. Of all his cases, he is particularly proud of his results with a patient who had been hit by a bus. “When the patient first arrived, he was in a wheelchair,” Sherman recalls. “He had a major concussion and memory loss, and more than 12 fractures across his body.” Sherman taught him how to walk once more. “I love having patients discover they can walk and run again, when they thought they’d never be able to do that,” Sherman says. Sherman values the combination of chiropractic and physical therapy available at Dynamic Health Center, believing it gives patients a holistic approach to healing. In his free time, he enjoys swimming and riding bikes with his wife and daughter.

Dr. Peter Cox is known for his ability to diagnose the cause of a problem, instead of just treating its symptoms. His unique patient-focused and technology-driven practice is getting phenomenal results helping people with cases others believe are hopeless and getting people back on their feet faster.
In 1997, Bryan Jackson knew very little about chiropractic. He was working as a physical therapist in Connecticut , following his graduation from Quinnipiac University with a B.S. in Physical Therapy.
A long-time proponent of complete, holistic care, Dr. Matz began his career with a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition from Clemson University. His interest in chiropractic is a natural extension of that. “Lifestyle changes toward living a healthier life positively impact your well-being, and participation in chiropractic treatment can also improve your health,” Matz asserts.
John Sherman was a high school senior in West Palm Beach, Florida, and a promising athlete with a soccer scholarship to Belmont Abbey College. His future seemed firmly established, until he played a pick-up game with some buddies.
